"My work with Dan was truly profound and wonderfully insightful. The lessons that came through were both refreshing and familiar, and we programmed them into my system in the present even more deeply. I was reminded that fear can serve us in allowing for quiet observation, and that I am responsible for turning it into love."

PODCASTS
Mind Space Minimal is a podcast series exploring hypnosis, art, and minimalism - created and produced by the author and artist, Jessica Yatrofsky, and expert in hypnosis and past life regression, Daniel Ryan. At the heart of their collaboration is a reflection on the predominantly Buddhist precept of the internal reflecting the external. Consciousness, culture, wellness, politics and more are woven into each episode. Through conversation and practice, the series unfolds revealing deeper layers of appreciation for beautiful, clean, minimal spaces, the feelings they produce, and those that create these sacred spaces. Connecting these central principles and metaphors within the various structures of the KonMari Method and Hypnotherapy, we are organizing the outer world and de-cluttering the inner world through action, visualization, and guided inner work. Psychological cleanliness can equate to physiological states, and a clean space in the physical world can support an inner sense of peace in similar ways creating somatic equilibrium.
Jessica Yatrofsky is a New York-based artist, author and minimalist. She received her MFA from Parsons the New School for Design and published her first photography monograph with powerHouse Books in 2010 and her second photography monograph in 2015. Jessica’s photographic work is part of the permanent collection with the Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art and the Museum of Sex. Jessica is a certified KonMari™consultant and lifestyle coach focusing on aesthetic and creative-inspired living.
In this episode of Poppy Jamie's Not Perfect Podcast, she interviews Daniel Ryan, second-generation hypnotherapist and co-director at The Center for Integrative Hypnosis NYC. They explore what hypnosis is, the benefits of past life regression (as well as clear up some myths), and break down what a hypnotherapy session might be like. Poppy is the daughter of a hypnotherapist herself, and loves this therapy and has always found tremendous benefit from it.
KCRW’S THE ORGANIST
Sleeping Knowledge
How does music resemble food? How can sound work like medicine? To treat chronic digestive pain, producer Ross Simonini tried everything until visiting hypnotherapist Daniel Ryan, who uses only the sound of his voice through a technique shared by orators, monks, musicians, parents—and magician David Blaine.
KCRW’S THE ORGANIST
Appendix: Hypnotic Induction
If each episode of a podcast is an organ, an essential piece of a larger body, then this is an appendix to that body: a non-essential but still uniquely formed bonus episode. In it you’ll hear a hypnotic induction as performed and scored by the hypnotherapist Daniel Ryan. Ryan was featured on the Organist last week in our episode about the relationship between our bodies, our minds, and sound. One last note— it’s probably best if you stop operating heavy machinery while you’re listening to this podcast.
Lifting the Iceberg is a wide-ranging psychology podcast hosted by Tyler James Burger that uses art as a window to the mind, in order to explore subjects surround consciousness, creativity and mystical experience. In this episode, Tyler interviews Daniel about his position having one foot in the scientific forefront of alternative therapies and the other in the psychedelic wellness scene of NYC. Daniel walks us through three of the most popular self-care tools of our modern time; Meditation, Hypnosis, & Past Life Regression.
A uniquely death-positive exploration of life and living, The Adventures of Memento Mori is a wonderful podcast produced and hosted by D.S. Moss. We had the pleasure of meeting in the creation of this podcast episode and have since become good friends. So good in fact, my Brooklyn office is in his home and I’ve also been known to read tarot at his parties.
The Adventures of Memento Mori: A Cynic's Guide for Learning to Live by Remembering to Die, is a podcast exploring the science, mysticism, culture, mystery, and inevitability of death. Satirical and philosophical, the show follows host, D.S. Moss, as he attempts to reconcile his own impermanence and live a more meaningful life.
APPS
SLEEP SOUNDLY WITH THE SLEEP-WELL TOOLKIT ON HAPPY NOT PERFECT
In 2018, I had the incredible opportunity to work with the creative minds at Happy Not Perfect. Led by Poppy Jamie, I designed and performed “The Sleep-Well Toolkit”. Hypnosis is particularly useful for helping us get back to sleep, and it is one of the most common subjects to come up in my private practice. Devoted to doing less - not more - “The Sleep-Well Toolkit” is a multi-part experiential series made to guide the listener back to a nonverbal, physiological, and primal understanding of the simplicity and subtraction that helps the brain rest.
Happy Not Perfect approaches mindfulness and the practice of it with a no-nonsense, research-backed, productivity-based, point of view. Created by Poppy Jamie, HPN’s offerings are scientifically supported and designed for you. It is your go-to place for everything you need to look after your mind in a fun new way. The app is designed to suit your lifestyle, not the other way around.

MUSIC
Hypnotist Makes Music for Films (most were actual films, but some may just have been in my head) is music written and recorded between 2011 and 2019. The selected tracks, as well as their sequence and arrangement, have been considered with trance in mind on behalf of the listener. This music is recommended for use during meditation, hypnosis, trance, past life regression, cooking, driving, working, running, reading, writing, sleeping, sex, psychedelic experiences, thousand yard stares, and entering flow states. You’ll find the record on Spotify above. It’s also on Apple Music and other streaming services.
Listen and enjoy at your leisure. In lieu of a physical release - if there were to be special thanks and liner notes, my gratitude would go to Doug Neumann, Daniel Bellury, Daniel Whitt, Daniel Fickle, Todd Buchler, James Gannon, Matt Ferrin, Joseph Gannon, Chris Cipriano, Taylor McFadden, Ben Thorp Brown, Doug Roland, and Dr. Sarah Joan Biffen.
