“Man's work is nothing but this slow trek to rediscover, through the detours of art, those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened.”
-Albert Camus
An experiential learning lab to explore and examine new pathways to peak states of flow, inspiration, and productivity.
TRANCE WRITING is a learning lab series dynamically exploring hypnosis, guided trance, and meditation as sources of inspiration and creativity. Practice is offered to cultivate a shared sense of calm and subtract what we don’t need before intervals of writing. The opposite of a workshop in three-act structure - proper etiquette, form, supposed best practices, and otherwise serious matters are (respectfully and temporarily) placed aside. The process is examined from a new and different perspective. Taking what is useful, and leaving the rest. Subtraction is part of our goal. Removing inessentials and discarding what’s not serving the writer are threaded into the ethos of this workshop. Acknowledging play as the transformative element, we embrace the subconscious.
