This week I’ll be returning to Spotify’s offices to offer Hypnosis and The Brain with my main mirror neuron, Andrew Kippen, and my friend, the founder of Wellbeings, Cassandra Bianco. During this workshop, we explore the myriad ways in which trance is already occurring in our lives. Threaded into our attention - screens, for instance, are trance-inducing substances. After establishing a few core principles, we connect these common and everyday experiences of hypnosis to their correspondence and sources within our neurology. “The Meta-Pattern For Learning and Change” was one of the first lessons taught to me by my friend and mentor, Melissa Tiers. This meta-pattern distills a few simple keys in the brain such as repetition being essential to memory and learning. After introducing the meta-pattern and a little more material, we begin to practice the dynamic exercises and practices designed to relieve and relax while illustrating how trance and the brain operate in action. It’s always important when working with businesses and groups coming from all backgrounds and skillsets, that the material is made applicable to our everyday lives. How does it connect when I receive that email on Tuesday that would have otherwise frustrated or distracted me? How do I apply the lessons at home or with colleagues? It’s a joy to watch faces light up as the new understanding and perspectives land. Teams, experiences, and subjects like these make corporate consulting absurdly enjoyable and fun.
